Sailmaker Thread Aligned Demos Available Now

18 July 2003

The new Thread Alinged module for Sailmaker opens up a world of opportunities for independent sailmakers to create thread aligned products to compete with the major worldwide sailmaking groups.

The sailmaker thread aligned module allows you to design yarn layouts onto the surface of your sailmaker sail design. These three dimensional curves are then translated into two dimensions when the sail panels are saved.

These marks can then be used to lay load bearing yarns onto the surface of the sail. The Yarns can be laid by an x-y plotter - or they can be drawn onto panels and laid by hand. The two dimensional panels can then be put together to create sails that are lighter and stronger than sails made from conventional fabrics.

Sailmaker Thread Align uses the existing Sailmaker design interface to create the sail designs and the Thread Aligned interface builds from the Patternmaker module that users will already be familiar with.
