SailScience offers a range of services other than creating and servicing its design and manufacturing software.
Stress analysis:
Having its own copy of Relax,
the Company will contract to any sailmaker, flexible membrane manufacturer,
yacht designer, America's Cup or Volvo 60 syndicate and supply independent
and confidential stress analysis and calculation reports which utilise
graphics as well as text in both technical and layman terms.
Performance analysis:
SailScience has been involved
in a number of projects over the years which have required high level
computer generated performance analysis. The Tag
Heuer Americas' Cup syndicate is just one such project where a performance
analyst was supplied into San Diego in 1994 - 95 for the duration of
the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Series.
Sail design:
Standard sail design mould libraries
can be supplied to sailmakers and used in conjunction with SailMaker
LE which is a simpler, cheaper version of the full design program.
The moulds come with a brief description of suitability and is charged
at a very low nominal rate when the individual mould is used to design
a sail.
Over the years, the Company's needs have evolved and changed in line with the evolving and changing needs of its customers. Whereas the main emphasis was purely on sail design in the early days, this has evolved into design, manufacturing, engineering and construction of most types of flexible membrane structures as well as yacht sails.
The Company's programmers are all highly qualified in the area of computers and three dimensional design. Each has a minimum of a diploma in scientific engineering or computer science.
The Company Manager is Bernice Lidgard who handles all enquiries and sales.
SailScience has purposely remained small to enable it to specialise in its chosen field. This has enabled the company to design, create and supply programs of rare quality and sophistication to its customers.
